BROWNING.COM 35 RECOIL HAWG ® Browning has developed one of the most effective muzzle brakes in the industry. The Recoil Hawg is designed to increase shooting comfort, improve accuracy and add confidence by simply reducing felt recoil. The Recoil Hawg relies on specially designed porting that directs gases up and to the sides. The multiple ports effectively expel gases to reduce felt recoil by as much as 76% (depending on caliber and brake). This makes the sensation of shooting the 300 RUM from a rifle equipped with a Recoil Hawg similar to shooting a rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor without a muzzle brake. The new Competition Recoil Hawg utilizes tunable top ports to customize muzzle rise mitigation. The Sporter Recoil Hawg, although slightly smaller to fit trimmer contour barrels, also reduces recoil up to 76%. Directing the gases to the sides and up also has the effects of reducing muzzle jump to keep the shooter looking downrange at their target to watch the bullet impact. The dust signature is also minimized as gases are not sent into the dirt below the muzzle. Constructed from steel, the Recoil Hawg is built for long-term durability. It can also be easily removed and replaced with the included thread protector (hunting models).
